Cansel Osberg

Cansel Osberg was born in Turkey and raised in Germany, but it was through life’s unexpected turns that her faith was truly shaped. After marrying a U.S. Army soldier, she moved to the United States, leaving behind the familiarity of a bustling city for the quiet backwoods of Florida. What followed was a season of deep uncertainty, including getting divorced, and then raising two children while enduring hardship that at one point left her living in her car.

Just when life seemed to be turning a corner, Cansel found love again and remarried, only to be met with another life-altering trial when her husband suffered a stroke. Overnight, she stepped into the role of full-time caregiver, unprepared and overwhelmed, yet carried by a strength she could only attribute to God. For five years, she walked through the valleys of fear, exhaustion, and heartbreak, while also witnessing moments of grace, resilience, and unexpected joy.

Through it all, Cansel came to understand what it means to trust God in the unknown, to walk by faith when life will never look the same again. Her journey through what she describes as “the black hole into the unknown” became a testimony of surrender, endurance, and divine provision.

Today, through her story and her work with Care After ICU, Cansel encourages others facing crisis to lean into faith, prepare with wisdom, and trust that even in life’s hardest moments, God is still writing a greater story.

Her life is a powerful reflection that even in the mess, God is at work, redeeming, restoring, and turning pain into purpose.
